I was a huge fan of the Sonic SATam cartoon series when I was young so I wanted to design a Sonic the Hedgehog wallpaper with Sonic and Sally in it. I also wanted to put these two characters in a "Knothole Village" like setting, but the closest I could find was this background of an enchanted forest. Since there's a big mushroom in this pic, it made me think of Mushroom Hill Zone from Sonic 3.
Remember, this is not my original artwork and I do not take any credit for this. I only used the artwork from other artists because I enjoy their artwork and just wanted to put it into this kind of use. All artwork in this wallpaper is copyright to their original owner. Also loved that Sally by Chad, you did a great job putting the two together like that. And totally, that looks like a zone. Although wasn't the one with the mushrooms on the Sonic & Knuckles cartridge not Sonic 3?
